Securing the Information and Communications Technology & Services Supply Chain
On May 15, 2019, President Trump issued the Executive Order on Securing the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and Services Supply Chain to strengthen efforts to prevent foreign adversaries from exploiting vulnerabilities in the ICT supply chain and protect the vast amount of sensitive information being stored in and communicated through ICT products and services.
Securing the Information and Communications Technology and Services Supply Chain
This is the final regulation implementation of EO 13873 which became effective February 5, 2025. Any transaction involving national critical infrastructure, such as election systems, which may involve foreign adversaries is subject to this regulation requiring Department of Commerce review and investigation. This regulation likely applies to the purchase of new voting computers by the state of Louisiana.
